Petrol money for a trip or a lift club

Driving to a wedding in Durban with three friends, or running a lift club to the office every weekday? Enter the distance, today's petrol price and how many people share, and you get a fair amount per person.

Everything happens on your device. Nothing you type is sent anywhere or stored.

Where to find the numbers

• Distance: Google Maps or Waze shows the kilometres for the route.
• Petrol price: the price per litre on the pump or your last till slip. It changes on the

first Wednesday of most months.

• Fuel use: your car's trip computer shows litres per 100 km. If it shows km per litre,

divide 100 by that number.

• Lift club: set the number of trips to the working days in the month, about 21.
