Your electricity bill is rising twice as fast as everything else you buy.

And the power cuts have mostly stopped. Both of those are true at the same time. Only one of them is a good reason to put panels on your roof, and it is the bill, not the blackouts.

Everything below comes from Stats SA, the Reserve Bank and Eskom. We did not make any of it up, and you can look all of it up yourself. Where we do not know something, like exactly what your business pays per unit, we say so instead of guessing.

What it costs

If prices keep rising the way they have

If R1 of electricity in 2008 cost you R1, this is what the same power costs as the years go by.

How long until your bill doubles

The one number worth remembering, next to what a bank charges to lend you money.

Years for your bill to double
Average rise each year
Bank lending rate
What this means: your power bill is climbing at roughly the same speed as the interest on a loan. So if you borrowed to buy a solar system, the money you stop paying Eskom is about the same as the interest you start paying the bank, before the system has saved you anything at all. Everything the panels make after that is yours.
Power vs everything else

What went up, and by how much

How much more you paid in June 2026 than in June 2025, for the same thing.

Power cuts

The power cuts have mostly stopped

Out of every 100 hours in the year, how many had power cuts somewhere on the grid.

We are showing you this even though it costs us a sale. If someone is still trying to sell you solar by scaring you about load shedding, they have not looked at the numbers since 2024. The grid got reliable. It did not get cheaper, and that is the real reason to go solar.

When the power does go off, it is dark outside

What time of day the cuts actually happen. Taller bar means more cuts at that hour.

Panels make nothing at 6pm. The sun is down, so the hour you are most likely to lose power is the exact hour panels cannot help. To keep the lights on then you need a battery, and the battery is the expensive part. We would rather tell you that now than have you find out after you have paid.
Sun and the grid

Summer looks great. Winter is the real test.

How much power the same panels make each month. 1.0 is an average month.

Ask for a system sized on June, not on the average. In June your panels make about a quarter less than they do in an average month. If someone sizes your system on the yearly average, it will disappoint you in the middle of winter, which is exactly when you are watching it most closely.

Fewer people are buying from the grid

How much less electricity the grid sold in 2026 than in 2002.

Who we are

Voypelo Solutions (Pty) Ltd is 100% black-owned and 100% youth-owned, B-BBEE Level 1, registered with CIPC and listed on the government's Central Supplier Database.

We buy directly from three different suppliers instead of one, which is why our inverter prices come out lower than most. The installation is done by a qualified electrician who signs off the Certificate of Compliance, the document your insurance will ask for.

We are new. We would rather show you the numbers and where they came from than borrow somebody else's success story.
